Iberplate

highlights

Composite wear plates and tubes are the best solutions for applications with high wear conditions. Depending on the type of cladding, the wear resistance/lifetime reach in some cases figures 12 times higher than carbon steel and 8 times than abrasion resistance steel. 

Coating
Process

Coating applied by automated open arc welding on the base material. Same Technology used on Vertical Mills.

 

Wear
resistant coating

High content of very hard carbides. Selection depending on service temperature and wear cases: Abrasion, erosion, impact, corrosion, metal friction and others.

Hardness: 58-68 HRC
Service Temperature: Up to 800ºC

 

Main
features

Coating with stringer beads. Low dilution between the weld deposit and the base material. High density of very hard carbides well distributed in the whole thickness of the coating.

Micro-cracks resulting from stress relieve during the welding process do not affect the wear resistance.

 

Main
advantages

Absence of open cracks and of weak areas between the welded beads for a higher wear resistance. Optimized beads overlap results in a flat final surface. Perfect bonding between coating and base material, allows mechanical processing of bending, shaping and rolling.
